I am a visual artist based in Canterbury, Kent,UK.
I work in a variety of mediums - my style of painting is a response to the physical aspects of the medium used.
When working in oils or acrylics various tools are used to manipulate the paint, this results in a build up of surface layers of different textures and colours.
When using Acrylic Inks the colour bleed is encouraged and enhanced by working back into the work with ink drawing.
The macro photographs of paint came about when I was looking at the 'Supports and Surfaces' group of painters, I set about removing the paint from the surface although I achieved this the result was visually disappointing. However these pictures were captured whilst working on this, they stunningly show the act of colour mixing taking place.
